Yesterday was a tiring day getting off of a long flight, getting to our first place of lodging, reassembling bikes and getting our gear in order. Not to mention the first interactions with new faces. Getting a good nights rest definitely set the tone for a good day. We have gone through a good amount of programming and educational practices to help set the tone for what to expect while on the road and how to handle oneself with integrity, accountability, discipline, and respect. In addition we finally got to get on the bikes today and do a skills assessment which helped kind of work out some of the nerves/butterflies so that was good. Tomorrow we will be doing a practice ride around the campus of FIU so I am looking forward to getting back on the bike. I know my brothers are as well. I pray for safety, health, and good energy tomorrow as we ride. I miss my family, especially my mother, and I can’t help but think of all of my friends back at TCU who have supported me. I hope I make them proud.
