This morning we woke up at DDRC and headed to breakfast with TJ Sullivan. We had a breakfast buffet at Beau’s Tavern inside a Sheraton hotel. After a lot of talks and jokes, we did our usual t-shirt presentation and parted ways. We hit the road around 11 and headed to Rocky Mountain Village, the third camp for us. This was quite the fun drive as this was my first time in Colorado and my first time seeing mountains, I felt like a little kid in a candy store and stared at them all the way to camp. When we arrived, we were met by Tony Garcia, the camp director and he showed us to our cabin and around the camp a bit. In this time he also told us about his history working with Build America teams and how much we have provided for the camp. After our tour, we had some downtime to explore and a few of us hiked up the mountain about 500 feet and got an amazing view of the camp and landscape. Around 1pm, JOH North arrived at camp as well and it was awesome to see some chapter brothers see each other on the road both participating in summer events, and it was great to see Jeff Michaud, the project manager for the North team. We had a shared dinner and watched each cabin of campers perform skits for the western themed week. After everything ended, we headed back to our cabin and almost all went to bed right away because we were exhausted. I am really looking forward to this week and leaving our mark on RMV like so many Pi Kapps and Pi Alphas have before.
