We woke up at 5am in the Youth Center of St. Luke’s United Methodists Church. Breakfast was sponsored by Mrs. McBride, the mother of Mike who rode Journey of Hope and works for The Ability Experience. Our 120 miler from Indianapolis to Cincinnati began on the smooth Monon Bike Trail. Most pace lines had a cyclist completing the Century Pull Challenge where they led the entire ride to provide a draft. It was fun riding through all of the small towns like New Palestine & Rushville and having roadside lunch on a playground. After crossing into Ohio we encountered a driver fall asleep at the wheel and stop in the intersection. We were able to respond and standby until the Harrison authorities arrived. We finished the ride with one of our steepest climbs into Clifton Heights and arrived at the Theta Chapter House where Brothers from the University of Cincinnati welcomed us. After setting up in the common rooms, we had Eli’s BBQ sponsored by Pi Alphas Michael Muse and Heath Thompson who respectively completed TransAmerica and Build America. The team spent the night exploring downtown and looks forward to an off day in Cincinnati.
