The team rode through the foggy streets of West Virginia’s capital city and began the slow climb up to Beckley. Along the way, we passed some beautiful mountain lakes and got our first real taste of the Appalachians. We definitely felt the burn after not climbing for many states, but the views were definitely work it. Our lodging and friendship visit was with an organization called MTSTCIL. They provide occupational therapy and community advocacy for individuals with disabilities. The team did tons of icebreakers with the organizations clients which had us laughing nonstop. MTSTCIL understood the team well, as they fed us the perfect dinner for cyclists: chicken nuggets and mac n cheese…and a lot of it!
