Day 54: Cleveland Ohio, August 1st 2019

Today, our team rode from Sandusky into Cleveland. The ride was only 60 miles and when waking up to see that on the whiteboard was a sight for sore eyes. The beginning of small climbing again gives us a taste of what’s to come with the Appalachians but we were spoiled with a lunch on Lake Erie. At mile 43 we pulled off and enjoyed an hour or so off the bike with our lunch and the views of the water. After that we rode another 25 miles and made it to our lodging and were greeted with snacks and a wonderful pasta dinner. We were then allowed to have time to ourselves for the rest of the night as we all hung out, handed out our Secret Santa gifts, and enjoyed the time we still have left together. With us being 7 days out from arrival, it’s becoming all too real for all of us that this trip is ending soon. For the time being, we are treasuring the time we have left.
