Team AbEx Ambassador Program Frequently Asked Questions

What are the requirements to apply?

  • 21 years old or older
  • You are a Pi Alpha, Pi Kappa Phi alumnus or supporter of The Ability Experience.
  • You participate in your local athletic community.
  • You have an Instagram account (Either private or public).

What are the perks?

  • Free race entries at AbEx Challenge events
  • Special edition Ambassador jersey

  • Monthly communication spotlighting ambassador highlights and new events

  • Discounted race entries for family and friends

What are the responsibilities?

  • Advocate disability awareness in your community and include athletes with disabilities in local athletic events
  • Fundraise a minimum of $1,000 by December 31
  • Add “@Team.AbEx Ambassador 🤝” to your Instagram and Strava bio
  • Add “Team AbEx” to your Strava and Zwift name
  • Tag @Team.AbEx #TeamAbEx #TheAbilityExperience in your relevant posts
  • Refer friends & family to Ability Experience’s fundraisers and events
  • Be ACTIVE with your interaction on @AbilityExp and @Team.AbEx social medias
  • Train and race in your Team AbEx gear
  • Repost @Team.AbEx posts to your story on Instagram and Facebook
  • Create content for Team AbEx social media
  • Participate in official challenge events
  • Be active in your favorite sport community
  • Communicate in the ambassador Facebook group

Does it cost anything to apply?

  • There is no membership fee. As an ambassador, you commit to fundraising a minimum of $1,000 by December 31. Any fundraising for AbEx Challenge events counts toward your $1,000 minimum.
  • If you are a recent Pi Alpha within two years of doing Journey of Hope or Gear Up Florida, your fundraising minimum will be $750.

What is included in the fundraising commitment?

  • You will receive a team jersey with your fundraising commitment.

When are you hiring ambassadors?

  • We accept applications on a rolling basis! Ambassadors are brought on on an annual or biannual basis.

How long is the ambassador program?

  • Ambassadors are accepted for a year, with a chance to renew at the end of the year.

Does it matter where I live?

  • We accept ambassadors from all around the United States! 

Who can be an ambassador?

  • Pi Alphas, Pi Kappa Phi alumnus and/or supporters of The Ability Experience can be ambassadors!

Are ambassadors required to participate in a minimum number of races or events each year?

  • No, you are not required to participate in a minimum amount of races. Ambassadors are encouraged to participate in whichever Ability Experience Challenges they can!
