March Mayhem

March Mayhem is an online bracket-style fundraising competition inspired by the NCAA’s March Madness tournament. Pi Kappa Phi chapters face off against each other to raise funds and awareness for The Ability Experience. Oh, and there are great prizes and bragging rights on the line! Read on to learn more about the competition and get your chapter ready to face off in some friendly competition.

To Qualify

Chapters are entered into the competition based on year-to-date fundraising. If your chapter qualifies, you will have to opt-in to the competition. Chapters are seeded in the bracket based on fundraising from January 1 to March 13 of the current year. So, make sure all your funds have been reported via Classy by March 13 to qualify!

Competition Rules

How is fundraising calculated?

All funds raised throughout March Mayhem are based on a per-man average. The total dollars raised will be divided by the number of active members* in your chapter.
*Manpower is determined from data reported in the Green Report in February.

How does my chapter move forward in the competition?

Raise the most funds! You’ll be competing against another chapter in each round to see who can raise the most funds that round. The chapter with the highest total at the end of each round will advance in the competition. Fundraising resets to $0** at the start of each round to ensure each round is fair and competitive.
**Your Classy page will show your total amount raised, but the March Mayhem leaderboard will be updated each round.

How does my chapter submit funds?

One word – Classy! All funds raised must be submitted online via your chapter’s Classy page each round of the competition. Funds must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. CT on the final day of each round.

Don’t get DQ’d!

Chapters will be disqualified if they hold and drop funds from before the start of March Mayhem during the competition. Win or lose, do it fairly!

Good luck!
