WHAT WILL BE YOUR
ABILITY EXPERIENCE?

Whether traveling across the country or service a camp in your region, you will gain leadership and
service experiences that set you apart from your peers, and make lifelong friendships. But don’t just take our word for it, read what some successful Pi Alphas say about their experience…

“Raising money is all about sales. Whether you want to go into business or nonprofit, the experience of raising money is invaluable. An interviewer is much more interested in talking about GUF/JOH than an internship. Everyone has internships but very few people have an experience like GUF/JOH. It will make you stand out amidst all the resumes.”
Howard Goldsmith | Psi (Cornell)

“17 years later, I still get asked about these events, as they are the only pre-medical school service events I keep on my CV. This event helped me get into medical school, as it was an event that ‘stood out’ from the rest and truly showed how dedicated I was to helping and serving others. To me, it is the most impactful and important event I have down or will ever do”
Jonathan Hughes | Eta Gamma (Colorado)

“I have my jersey hanging on the wall of my office. Anyone who comes in asks about it. No one asks about your internship history after age 22. The story of serving others and the impact it had on me personally is life long.”
Mike Davis | Psi (Cornell)

Push yourself further than you ever thought possible with a cross-country cycling trip serving people with disabilities. Three teams cycle an average of 75 miles each day, participating in friendship visits where men of Pi Kappa Phi and people with disabilities celebrate the abilities of all people with each stop. Whether challenging yourself as a cyclist or leading through a crew position, this is a great program to explore servant leadership from coast to coast.
Kick off your summer with a two-week trip that covers 900 miles from Miami to Tallahassee. The 35 man team cycles from city to city participating in friendship visits where men of Pi Kappa Phi and people with disabilities celebrate the abilities of all people. Whether challenging yourself as a cyclist or lead the program through a crew position, this is a great program to explore servant leadership on a national level.
Learn new skills, build yourself, and leave a lasting impact for people with disabilities...all in one weekend! Ability Camp participants will spend their weekend building accessible amenities at camp and spending their evenings bonding with brothers from other chapters and some of the campers who benefit from their work.
The Ability Experience Challenges promote inclusion by enabling people with and without disabilities to compete together in endurance events. They are your way to impact the lives of people with disabilities across the country while challenging yourself mentally and physically. These events are open to anyone in order to promote the abilities of all people. Whether you choose to walk, run or roll, you will help provide Enabled Athletes (athletes with disabilities) the opportunity to compete side-by-side in various races across the country!
